Barge Singa Besar 2502 (70’ x 250’) loaded with (2) units 350 tonnes Crawler Crane berthing at Penang private jetty.
Our crew consists of Barge Master, lifting supervisor, winch operators, crane operators and riggers. Our scope of works was to provide two (2) units 350 tonnes Crawler Crane working on the barge for launching of 544 nos. x 40 meter long U-Beam (140 mt) and I-Beam (90mt) on to the newly cast crosshead along side of the existing Penang Bridge. The barge was required to position within 2 meters away from the existing bridge. On the other hand, we were requested to use 4 points 5 tonnes anchor to slowly position the barge, in order to moor the barge to the final allocated safe position without touching the pile cap of the bridge. Once the barge is in the correct position, we then lower down 2 nos. of spar on to the seabed to hold and stabilise the barge while launching of the beams.
